Mahtab Akbar Rashdi
Mahtab Akbar Rashdi has been an educationist, bureaucrat, media personality, writer , columnist, human rights activist, environmentalist, and actress. She has been a Member of Provincial Assembly Of Sindh from 2013 - 2018. Born in Naudero, Sindh, Rashdi, Mahtab Akbar Rashdi (née Channa) is the youngest of four sisters. She attributes her academic achievements and emancipation to her father, a primary-school teacher who believed in educating girls. She studied in Hyderabad (Matric from Mira Girls School, BA from Zubeda Government Girls College, and a Master’s in Political Science followed by B.Ed from Sindh University), then taught at the University of Sindh and became a Director of Sindhology there for six years, before her Fulbright-sponsored Master’s in International Relations (UMass-Amherst). Her many awards include the Pakistan government’s Pride of Performance (2004), and Pakistan Television medallion for outstanding achievement. She is currently on the board of directors of HUM TV and NAPA, and is chairperson of Rahnuma–FPAP
