Nasreen Iqbal
Nasreen Iqbal is the Executive Director of Grammar School Rawalpindi and Center for Peace /Heritage and Sustainable Development.
⦁ She is a graduate from Kinnaird College and has a B.Ed. degree.
⦁ She has received training in school administration from Portland State University USA
and on Conflict Management across Cultures at School for International Training, SIT, Brattleboro, Vermont USA.
⦁ She has been an educator since over four decades and runs an effective school system called Grammar School Rawalpindi and Centre for Peace/Heritage and Education for Sustainable Development.
⦁ These organisations are recognised by UNESCO and British Council as lead education institutions in Pakistan and South Asia.
⦁ Nasreen Iqbal has represented Pakistan at International foras on Peace, Human Rights, Heritage and Education for Sustainable Development.
⦁ N.Iqbal represented Pakistan at a five day Human Rights Education Seminar in New Delhi organized by HURIGHTS Osaka, Japan for SAARC countries.
⦁ She was selected to go to Osaka, Japan for further deliberations.
⦁ She was nominated as a member of SAARC countries to develop a Peace Education manual in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
⦁ The final meeting for the Peace Education manual was in New Delhi.
⦁ She has conducted workshops on Heritage and Peace Education, in Sri Lanka, India and Australia.
⦁ Through GSR, she has also conducted heritage education workshops in UK for British Council.
⦁ In Pakistan GSR has two decade’s experience of organising workshops and seminars for public and private school education representative based on the Heritage books commissioned and supported by UNESCO.
⦁ A seminar entitled, Heritage and Pakistan’s Youth, was held on March 10th 2022 at Lok Virsa Islamabad.
GSR has been awarded the following recognition and projects internationally:
⦁ Piloted chatter books, a project of British Council for Pakistan.
⦁ Received the first ISA, British Council’s International school award.
⦁ Honourable mention for H.R.E by UNESCO Headquarters.
⦁ Peace Pillar award by UNESCO Headquarters.
⦁ GSR was declared as one of the Nine Best Practicing Institutions in Education for Sustainable Development in the Asia-Pacific region by UNESCO, Korea: 2009.
⦁ GSR was recognized as one of the Eight Best Practicing institutions of Asia pacific region by Asia Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding.
⦁ Mindfulness program has been piloted and conducted in GSR by South Bank University.
⦁ Nasreen Iqbal as an individual consultant of UNESCO developed four heritage books called Heritage in Young Hands, with her team which were shared with ASPnet Schools in Pakistan and globally.
⦁ The ED has represented Pakistan at International forums in, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Egypt, UK, US and Turkey.
⦁ Nasreen Iqbal is a National and International Master trainer. She has trained directors of education for Peace Education at NCERT New Delhi, India and in Kabool Lanka, Sri Lanka.
⦁ N. Iqbal was Pakistan’s representative to develop peace Education manual for SAARC countries in Colombo Sri Lanka and later in New Delhi , India
⦁ Member of Board of Trustees Development in Literacy
⦁ Member Board of Governor Lawrence College Ghora Gali, Murree.
